Pune reports 26 fire incidents on Diwali night

On Diwali night, Pune reported 26 fire incidents between 5pm and 11pm—mostly sparked by firecrackers and a bit of carelessness.
Thankfully, there were no major injuries or casualties, so celebrations stayed safe overall.
Fires broke out in areas like Hadapsar, Warje, and Kasba Peth, but fire teams acted fast and kept things under control.

How did previous years fare?

Between October 20 and early October 21, Pune had a total of 25 fire incidents (three linked directly to firecrackers).
Nearby Pimpri Chinchwad saw 29 cases from October 17-20.
