Rajnath Singh advocates for border demarcation with China
India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh met his Chinese counterpart, Admiral Dong Jun, at the SCO conference in Qingdao, pushing for a permanent, clearly marked border between the two countries.
The meeting comes after years of tension along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh, and Singh made it clear that rebuilding trust and reducing tensions should be top priorities.
Singh discusses terrorism, meets Russian counterpart for defense deals
Singh refused to sign a key SCO statement because it didn't address India's worries about terrorism—especially after the recent Pahalgam attack.
He also discussed India's efforts against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.
On the sidelines, Singh met Russia's Defense Minister, Andrey Belousov, to talk about speeding up defense deals like S-400 missile systems and Su-30 fighter upgrades, while also welcoming steps to keep relations positive.
