Red Fort blast: What really happened?
India
Investigators have pieced together what led up to the recent blast near Delhi's Red Fort.
Umar Mohammed, also known as Umar un-Nabi, was caught on CCTV in a parking lot near Sunehri Masjid for several hours, allegedly putting together the explosive device before the attack.
Target change and tighter security
Turns out, the Red Fort was supposed to be the original target, but since it was closed that day, Umar set off the bomb on Netaji Subhash Marg instead—tragically killing 15 people and injuring several others.
In response, Delhi Police have ramped up security big time: they're checking thousands of homes and cracking down on lodges not following safety rules to help prevent something like this from happening again.
