Revised school timings in heat-affected Himachal areas
With temperatures in parts of Himachal Pradesh hitting nearly 40°C, schools in Hamirpur and Kangra will now run from 7:30am to 1pm. The move comes as a way to keep students safe from the intense heat and possible health risks. Meanwhile, in Una, summer vacations have been extended until June 30 due to the heat.
New schedule in Hamirpur
Parents had voiced worries about kids facing heatstroke during regular school hours, especially in Hamirpur. The earlier timings are meant to help students avoid the worst of the midday sun and stay healthier during this hot spell.
Una district has extended summer vacations
On top of new timings, Una district has extended summer vacations until June 30 due to ongoing heatwave alerts from the IMD. It's all about keeping students comfortable and safe while temperatures stay high.
