Sabarimala introduces child safety armbands for young pilgrims
India
To help keep kids safe at the crowded Sabarimala temple, Kerala police have started giving out special armbands to children under 10 during the busy pilgrimage season.
With around 70,000 people visiting daily, these bands are meant to make sure young pilgrims don't get lost in the crowd.
How do the armbands work?
According to police, every child below the age of 10 is given an armband at Pamba.
Each armband has the child's name and their guardian's phone number, plus a QR code with extra details to help reunite families quickly if needed.
Parents are asked to keep the band on their child until they're safely back at their vehicle.
