'Sorry, couldn't fulfil your dreams': NEET aspirant in suicide note
What's the story
A 21-year-old student preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) died by suicide in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Aan, a resident of Rampur. He had moved to a private hostel in the Rawatpur area just three days ago to concentrate on his studies for the medical entrance exam. On Friday, Aan's roommate, Imdad Hasan, invited him to join him for Friday prayers. However, Aan declined the invitation, saying he wanted to stay back.
Discovery
Room was locked from inside
When Hasan returned from prayers, he found their room locked from the inside, and after several unanswered calls, fellow students peered through a ventilator and discovered Aan's body hanging from the ceiling fan with a lungi. The students immediately alerted the Rawatpur police, who arrived with a forensic team. They forced open the door and took down Aan's body for postmortem examination.
Investigation
Aan apologized to parents in suicide note
A two-page suicide note was recovered from the room, which has been sent for forensic analysis. "Amma-Abbu, forgive me. I couldn't fulfill your dreams. I am tired of my life," he wrote in the note. Additional Commissioner of Police, Kalyanpur, Ranjit, confirmed that the student's family has been informed about the incident. He said, "The body has been sent for autopsy, and further legal procedures are underway."
