Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth becomes 1st woman IAF Tactics and Air Combat Development Establishment (TACDE) graduate
India
Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth just made history as the first woman to graduate from the Indian Air Force's Top Gun school, officially known as TACDE.
She completed a tough 20-week Fighter Combat Leader course, where only about one in 100 pilots is even chosen to attempt it.
The course covers advanced air combat and precision strike skills.
Bhawana Kanth broke fighter pilot barriers
Kanth has been breaking barriers since day one. She was among India's first three women fighter pilots in 2016.
In 2019, she became the first woman cleared for day combat missions on the MiG-21 Bison, and later was also the first woman fighter pilot to join the Republic Day flypast.
Her journey is inspiring a new generation of women in military aviation.
