Summer holidays advanced amid Kashmir heatwave
Kashmir's schools are starting summer vacation a week early this year, thanks to an intense heatwave.
Instead of July 1, holidays for all students up to Higher Secondary level will begin on June 23 and last until July 7, 2025.

Srinagar just hit a scorching 35.2°C—one of its hottest days ever and nearly 7°C above normal. This is already the second major heatwave since mid-June.
Schools had shifted timings in May when temperatures soared, and Education Minister Sakina Itoo had mentioned more changes could come if the heat didn't let up.
Normally, vacations start much later in July, so this is quite a shift for students and teachers alike.
