Technical glitch delays 800 flights at Delhi airport
India
On Thursday, a technical glitch at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport delayed nearly 800 flights over the course of Thursday and Friday.
The culprit? A key system that handles flight data (the AMSS) went down, forcing staff to switch to manual processing of flight plans and leaving travelers stuck waiting.
System is back up, but delays still ongoing
The Airports Authority of India says the system is back up, but some delays are still ongoing. Major airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet were among those affected.
The issue even rippled out to airports in Jaipur, Lucknow, and Hyderabad—though thankfully, no flights already in the air were affected.
For now, passengers are being told to double-check their flight status online before heading out.
