Thane:Four, including two women, arrested for forcing girls into prostitution

Four girls, who were allegedly forced into flesh trade, were rescued and four persons, including two women, were arrested in Bhayander (Thane district) of Maharashtra, police said today. The racket was busted after police conducted a raid at a saloon in Golden Nest area on Wednesday, cops said. The accused were booked under different IPC sections, Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act (PITA) and Arms Act.

For prostitution, ante-chambers (not visible from outside) were used

"The saloon had ante-chambers and victims used to be secretly sent inside for prostitution. These rooms were not visible from outside," Assistant Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni said. "Four girls, who had been brought to the saloon for flesh trade, were rescued during the operation on Wednesday," he said, adding "The two arrested men worked as agents and arranged for the victims."

Vehicles carried plates with 'Police' or 'Press' written on them

Further, the vehicles in which the victims used to be transported, would carry plates with either 'Police' or 'Press' written on them, "so as to not arouse any kind of suspicion." One vehicle was seized and a large knife was recovered from it, police said.
