Thane youth's suicide linked to abetment; woman charged

Sahil Sahdev Thakur, 21, was found dead at his home in Dombivli, Thane, on June 26. His parents discovered him after returning from a pilgrimage.
Police have booked a woman of the same age for abetment to suicide after uncovering WhatsApp messages where she allegedly encouraged Sahil to take his own life and gave him detailed instructions.

Relationship between the accused and the deceased

The woman, known as "Babli" from Pade village, was already acquainted with Sahil.
Police registered the case after his family and a local political figure shared disturbing chat records exchanged just hours before the incident.
Investigators are now focusing on her involvement and their relationship as the case unfolds.
