Tragic bus accident in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag
A bus carrying 18 people on the Char Dham Yatra plunged into the Alaknanda river in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district on Thursday.
The bus lost control near Gholtir while heading to Badrinath.
Sadly, two people have died and 10 are still missing.
Eight passengers rescued
Eight passengers were rescued—some managed to jump out before the bus sank.
Locals formed human chains alongside police and disaster teams to help pull survivors from the river, and those injured are now in hospital.
Families from Rajasthan and Gujarat
The bus was full of families from Rajasthan and Gujarat making a pilgrimage—a reminder of how risky travel can get on Uttarakhand's steep roads, especially during busy seasons.
Authorities are urging everyone not to spread rumors and to trust official updates as rescue work continues.
