Tragic drowning of 5 teenagers in Telangana

On Sunday, five young men from Hyderabad lost their lives while taking a holy dip in the Godavari River near Basara, Telangana. They were part of a family group visiting the Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam temple when strong currents swept them away.

Victims didn't know how to swim

The victims—Rakesh (17), Vinod (18), Madan (18), Ruthvik, and Bharath—didn't know how to swim in deep water. They entered the river for a ritual bath but got caught off guard by the current. Divers have been searching for their bodies.

Bodies sent for post-mortem

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and authorities are investigating. This heartbreaking incident serves as a reminder to be extra careful around rivers, especially if you're not confident in deep water or unfamiliar with local conditions.
