Tragic mass suicide follows disturbing social media reel

In Barmer's Udu village, a family of four—Shivlal Meghwal, his wife Kavita, and their two young sons—died by suicide after ongoing harassment from Shivlal's brother and mother over a government housing scheme (PMAY).
The family left a note explaining their distress and naming the property dispute as the reason behind their decision.

TL;DR

Note asked for last rites to be held at home

Before taking this step, the family switched off their phones. Their note also asked for last rites to be held at home.
The tragedy came to light when relatives couldn't reach them, leading neighbors to find the bodies in a water tank.
A video of Kavita dressing her son as a bride just before has sparked public concern.
Police are now investigating possible abetment of suicide linked to the ongoing family conflict.
