Unusual motives behind Raja Raghuvanshi's murder

During what should have been a happy honeymoon in Meghalaya, 29-year-old businessman Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered—allegedly set up by his wife Sonam and her lover Raj Kushwaha. The plan started before the wedding in Indore, with three of Raj's friends and cousin helping out—not for money, but out of loyalty.

TL;DR

How the crime unfolded

After an initial plan in Guwahati did not materialize, the group attacked Raja with a machete at Weisawdong Falls and threw his body into a gorge. Sonam disguised herself in a burqa to escape across states before turning herself in to police in Uttar Pradesh. All five accused are now in custody as Meghalaya Police reconstruct the crime scene and gather evidence. Investigators say they're close to filing charges and hope their careful work will bring justice soon.
