UP court clears former MP Dhananjay Singh in 2010 murder case
Former BSP MP Dhananjay Singh has been acquitted by a Jaunpur court in a double murder case dating back to 2010, where two men—Sanjay Nishad and Nandlal Nishad—were shot dead at Belawa Ghat, reportedly over a contract dispute.
Although local police had initially let Singh off the hook, the CBCID later charged him and four others after further investigation.
TL;DR
Singh has faced many criminal cases over the years
Singh was arrested in 2011 but got bail a year later.
The trial moved through several courts before ending on July 3, when Judge Sadiq Siddiqui said there just wasn't enough evidence to convict him.
This isn't new for Singh; he's faced many criminal cases over the years, with most ending in acquittals or being dropped, showing a pattern of long legal battles throughout his career.
