UP: 14-year-old girl commits suicide after getting barred from exam
The girl was a student of Class 9 and hanged herself after returning from school

A 14-year-old girl in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, died by suicide after her school barred her from taking an exam due to non-payment of fees, her family members alleged, according to PTI. Superintendent of Police (City) Rahul Bhati has ordered an investigation into the case after the family lodged a complaint. The girl, a Class 9 student, allegedly hanged herself after returning home from school.

Couldn't deposit fees due to financial reasons: Father

Ashok Kumar, the father of the deceased, said in his complaint, "My daughter was a student of class ninth at a local private school. Due to some financial constraints, I was unable to deposit her school fee." Kumar claimed he asked the school to give him some time to submit the fees, but the administration did not let his daughter sit for the exam.
