Zubeen Garg death hoax: Assam CM warns against AI images

India

Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is warning people on Facebook to watch out for AI-generated images spreading online about singer Zubeen Garg's death.
Some viral photos show arrested people like Garg's manager and an event organizer smiling, which Sarma says could mislead the public and fuel rumors.

Legal battles and investigations

The Assam CID is cracking down on anyone spreading false info about Garg's passing.
Garg died in Singapore on September 19, and both the CID and a judicial probe are looking into it. The autopsy confirmed he drowned while swimming.
Meanwhile, financial crime allegations have brought in other agencies, with over 60 FIRs filed against one of the organizers—who now wants the case moved for safety reasons.
