  • The much-awaited festival of lights, Diwali is just around the corner.

    But in case you are bored with the usual drill lately, and want to make your Diwali celebration a bit different, know that travel could be a great idea.

    Many non-resident Indians have made the festival pretty popular abroad.

    Here are five countries (other than India, of course) that love celebrating Diwali.

  • Located east of Madagascar in the Indian ocean, Mauritius is a place that celebrates Diwali with such zest that you won't feel that you're out of India.

    The country has a 63% Indian diaspora, out of which 80% follow Hinduism.

    Hence, celebration of Diwali, among other Hindu festivals, is commonplace in the country.

    Post festivities, enjoy the country's picturesque landscapes and beautiful beaches.

  • Nestled in the foothills of Himalayas, Nepal has an 80% Hindu population. Hence, celebrations surrounding Diwali is pretty obvious in the country.

    Known as Tihar among the locals, the Diwali festivities continue for as many as five days.
