    Cliche as it may sound, everyone desires beautiful and healthy skin. But so much pollution and extended exposure to sun can badly impact your skin cells, and ruin your skin's health. Hence, following a healthy lifestyle is crucial for a shiny skin. From staying dehydrated to sleeping with makeup on, here are five common mistakes you should avoid if you want a golden-glowing skin.

    Mistake #1: Not drinking enough water

    For more reasons than one, staying dehydrated is a bad idea. Among other things, it is extremely bad for your skin. So make sure you drink plenty of water for beautiful and healthy skin. Doctors usually recommend a daily intake of 8 to 12 glasses for your overall good health. What's more? It is also important for body detox and good digestion.

    Mistake #2: Going crazy about cosmetics

    One certain way to ruin your skin health is to buy every new cosmetic product that comes to the market. Unnatural and packaged skin products, like foundation, creams etc. can block the pores on your skin and cause acne and other issues. So avoid products that contain wax or oil in them. Opt for more natural options such as water-based products.

    Mistake #3: Overexposure to sun

    It is a no-brainer to minimize your sun exposure if you want healthier skin. But mind it, sun can enter your space in more ways than you expect. Sometimes, indoor sun-rays trespassing at home, in office, or in cars can also damage your skin health. We suggest you to use a sun-screen, wear full-sleeve clothing to reduce your exposure to sunlight.

    More mistakes: Excessive washing; Sleeping with makeup on

    Excessive washing: You may believe that washing your skin time and again will improve its health. But excess washing will dry out your skin. Try cleaning your skin not more than twice a day. Sleeping with makeup on: Many women tend to go to bed without bothering to remove their makeup, but it can lead to clogging of pores, among other skin issues.

    Other handy tips for beautiful skin

    Apart from avoiding these mistakes, follow the following tips to improve your skin health: 1) Eat a healthy and balanced diet, 2) Reduce your stress levels, 3) Get 7-8 hours of sound sleep each night.
