    What's the story

We have often been advised to regularly practise Yoga for its various health benefits.

This is so because Yoga creates a connection between your body and mind, and also allows them to relax and repair, through various poses and breathing techniques.

Further, it can help improve your blood circulation, digestion, strength, and flexibility.

Here are some breathing exercises you should perform.

    #1

    Inhale and exhale

In order to perform this exercise, first off, take up a seat.

Start by placing your hips over your knees, or be seated in a comfortable chair.

Then, rest your hands in your lap around the knees, and close your eyes.

Now, take a deep breath from your nose, and then slowly exhale a long breath.

    Repeat this a few times.

    #2

    Kapalbhati Pranayama

To perform Kapalbhati Pranayama or the skull-shining breath, sit down and place both your hands on the corresponding knees.

Now, close your eyes, and inhale deeply while filling up your lungs. This should be followed by deep exhaling.

This exercise promotes weight loss, improves blood circulation, relieves stress, enhances mental function, and rejuvenates the whole body.

    #3

    Anulom Vilom Pranayama

This form of Pranayama involves alternate breathing.

To perform Anulom Vilom Pranayama, firstly, close your eyes, sit in padmasana, and rest both hands on your knees.

Close the right nostril with the right thumb, then inhale slowly through the left nostril.

Now, close the left nostril with your ring finger and exhale from the right nostril.

    Repeat with the other side

    Stay healthy!
