Mumbai: IBM techie dies while boarding a local train

A software engineer, working with IBM, was crushed under a Mumbai local train after he lost his balance while boarding it. 31-year-old Sudarshan Choudhury was trying to catch the running train before he slipped, according to a report by Mumbai Mirror. The accident happened at Dadar Station on Platform 1. Sudarshan did his engineering from Sangli and was to get married in two months.

    What actually happened?

Early on Sunday morning, Sudarshan was to travel to Karjat, and his friends were supposed to board the same train. They all had a plan to go for trekking later in the day. As per the CCTV footage, as Sudarshan tried boarding the Karjat train, he was flung off and slipped down the end of Platform 1.

The police was informed by the commuters

Police found Sudarshan some 50 meters away from the platform. He was declared brought dead at Sion Hospital. His phone was handed over to Railway Protection Force, which informed his friends about the mishap. Meanwhile, his friends were trying to approach Railway Police to check on him. His parents were informed subsequently.
