    Commuters can now browse the internet as 19 stations on Mumbai suburban rail network are provided with free Wi-Fi facility. "The first Wi-Fi enabled station in the country was Mumbai Central on the Western Railway.     Fuel prices drop in different cities across Maharashtra

    With the Central government revoking the state specific cess (SSC) on fuel in Maharashtra, motorists will now have to pay less for petrol and diesel.     The cut-offs in Mumbai colleges dropped in first merit list for admissions to first-year junior college (FYJC). 32, 477 students out of the 2.3 lakh applicants in the general category got admission and 53, 803 got their first preference. 63% students are still left who will their luck in next rounds.     Mumbai connects with Porbander, Kandla under UDAN scheme

    Low-cost carrier Spice Jet connecting Porbander and Kandla with Mumbai became the first flight for Mumbai airport under the Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik (UDAN) scheme. Under regional connectivity scheme (RCS), which aims to connect metros with non-metros, prices are capped at Rs. 2,500 on 50% seats on an hour-long flight. The price of Porbander-Mumbai flight, which comes under RCS, starts at Rs. 3100.

    Maha govt sets aside 250 hectares of forest for airport

    After getting Union government's clearance to handover forest-land, Maharashtra government has set aside 250 hectares of forests in Raigad district to City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) for the proposed Navi Mumbai airport project. The airport will be built on 1,160 hectares of land out of which 250 hectares is forest-land. CIDCO offered a green patch of 242 hectares in exchange near Khopoli.
