Anshu Prakash: News

Anshu Prakash is a 1986-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre. After graduating in Economics from St. Stephen’s College and completing his MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, Prakash joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1986. He has held several key positions in the state and central governments, such as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor to the Rural Development Ministry, Principal Secretary for Health & Family Welfare in Delhi Government, Chairman and Managing Director of the Delhi Transport Corporation, and has also served in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. He replaced MM Kutty to be appointed as the Chief Secretary of Delhi in 2017. Barely a few months later, in 2018, Prakash had a major face-off with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and alleged that two AAP MLAs manhandled him at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence. Since November 2018, Prakash has been working in the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, first as an Additional Secretary and later as Secretary.
