    What's the story

In a shocking plot twist in the Karnataka Elections, the BJP fell short of a clear majority, giving JD(S) and Congress an upper hand.

The trends at the time of press showed BJP leading in 107 seats, Congress in 73 and JD(S) in 40.

Congress's leaders accepted defeat and said they are ready to support JD(S) in its bid to form a government.

Conceding defeat, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "We had a telephonic conversation with Deve Gowda ji & Kumaraswamy. They have accepted our offer. Hopefully, we will be together."

Reportedly, JD(S) and Congress will also fight the 2019 elections together.

If things plan out as Congress wants, Kumarswamy will be the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

BJP pulls big guns, Prakash Javadekar meets Amit Shah

As the talks of an unlikely alliance between JD(S) and Congress caught fire, reportedly BJP's National President Amit Shah asked Prakash Javadekar to rush to Bengaluru.

A short while ago, Javadekar was spotted at Shah's residence.

Reportedly, BJP will also stake claim to form a government.

JD(S) leader Danish Ali, meanwhile, said they'll do anything to keep BJP out of power.

    Do you know?

BS Yeddyurappa or Kumarswamy, who will be the CM?

With Siddaramaiah conceding defeat, him returning for a second term is highly unlikely. BS Yeddyurappa, BJP's CM candidate, did not reveal final plans and asked to wait for complete results. Will Kumarswamy become CM? Only time will tell.
