The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said both leaders reviewed progress since Modi's visit to Malaysia in February. They discussed cooperation in trade, defense, digital economy, energy, and tourism.

The MEA said Modi appreciated Malaysia's support in strengthening ASEAN-India relations.
"Prime Minister Modi appreciated Malaysia's continued support in strengthening ASEAN-India relations. The leaders exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest," it said.
Anwar agreed to establish an Indian consulate at Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, furthering diplomatic ties between the two nations.
