Last week, he had said that many people have doubts about the incident and promised to present a detailed presentation on February 10. "I have many doubts in my mind, along with those of Maharashtra, regarding the tragic demise of Ajit dada in the Baramati plane crash," he wrote on X.

Press conference comes after Maharashtra Zilla Parishad elections
Rohit Pawar's press conference comes after the recent elections for 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis were held in Maharashtra. The polls were originally slated for February 5 but were postponed due to Ajit's death. Voting was held on Saturday after the delay. The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance won a landslide victory in these elections, winning 552 out of 731 Zilla Parishad seats and over 1,000 Panchayat Samiti seats across Maharashtra, PTI reported.

The NCP (SP) and the NCP had jointly fielded their candidates on the latter's 'clock' symbol during the Zilla Parishad elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party was the largest contributor to the Mahayuti's victory, winning 225 Zilla Parishad seats. The Indian National Congress was the largest party in opposition, winning 55 Zilla Parishad seats.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) won 43 Zilla Parishad seats, while the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP) secured 26 seats. Independents won 20 Zilla Parishad seats, and unrecognized parties registered with the State Election Commission bagged 14 seats. In the Pune Zilla Parishad, the NCP won a majority with 51 out of 73 seats.
