Amazon Music gets Alexa+ AI assistant to help you discover music

Technology

Amazon just rolled out Alexa+, an upgraded AI assistant inside the Amazon Music app on iOS and Android.
Announced November 4, 2025, it's now in Early Access for eligible users.
With Alexa+, you can ask for playlists like "2010s hits starting with Nicki Minaj" or dig into artist influences—just by chatting naturally.

Alexa+ is like a music-savvy friend

Alexa+ uses generative AI to get what you're looking for and responds like a music-savvy friend.
It can explain song meanings, trace where tracks come from, and serve up custom recommendations based on your vibe.
So far, users with Alexa+ are checking out three times more songs and listening to nearly 70% more music overall.

Alexa+ vs ChatGPT on Spotify

Right now, Alexa+ is only for Early Access users but will reach everyone soon.
Amazon's move comes as Spotify adds ChatGPT to its own app, turning up the heat in AI-powered streaming.
While others rely on algorithms or human picks, Amazon is betting big on deep conversational AI—plus weekly playlist drops and smarter search—to help you find your next favorite song faster.
