AMD's new 'Redstone' tech takes on NVIDIA's DLSS

Technology

AMD just dropped "Redstone," its latest AI-powered upscaling tool for gamers.
Designed to compete with NVIDIA's popular DLSS, Redstone turns lower-res frames into sharper visuals and smoother gameplay on the newest AMD graphics cards.
In a quick demo with F1 24, the Redstone frame generation produced much smoother shadows compared to the old version.

Why it matters:

Redstone already works with over 200 games, including big names like Warhammer 40K: Darktide and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
AMD also introduced "Radiance Caching" to make ray tracing faster, which could shake things up for console gaming—especially with the rumored PlayStation 6 potentially benefiting.
With these updates, AMD is clearly betting big on smarter software for next-gen gaming.
