What's the story

Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have been officially launched in India by Mukesh Ambani's son, Akash Ambani. The next-generation iPhones would go on sale today from 6:00pm via various online and offline channels. Delivery of pre-booked devices would start from today; the pre-booking of the smartphones that began on 22 September will close at 6:00pm. Take a look at the best offers!

New iPhones

Both iPhone devices available in two storage options

Apple has launched both iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in two storage variants, 64GB and 256GB, and three colors Gold, Silver, and Space Grey. The iPhone 8 64 GB variant is priced at Rs. 64,000 while the 256GB variant at Rs. 77,000. The 64GB variant of the iPhone 8 Plus will be sold at Rs. 73,000 while the 256GB variant at Rs. 86,000.

Online, Offline Channels

Apple to market latest devices on online, offline platforms

The new iPhone devices would be available online at e-commerce sites, Amazon India, Flipkart, and Infibeam. Coming to the offline channels, people can purchase the phones at many leading electronic stores, including Reliance Digital, Croma, and Redington India. Following a partnership with Reliance, Apple will sell its devices through Jio's website and stores. Special deals and recharge offers are being provided by Jio.

Online exchange, cashback, and EMI offers

Amazon is offering discounts of up to Rs. 16,500 on the iPhone 8 series on exchange; EMI options start from Rs. 3,043. Flipkart's exchange offer for the new iPhones promises additional "exchange value" of up to 12%. Its "No Cost EMIs" start from Rs. 5,334. Those who pre-order the phones using Citibank cards get Rs. 10,000 cashback; it's valid up to 5:59pm today.

Buyback Offers

Buyback offers by Jio and Flipkart

Under Jio's buyback offer, people buying iPhone8/8 Plus on Amazon/Reliance Digital can get 70% of the cost back if they upgrade to the next iPhones releasing in 2018. However, customers need to purchase Jio's Rs. 799 monthly plan for the next 12 months or Rs. 9,588 annual-subscription. Under Flipkart's Rs. 99 buyback offer, buyers get upto 52% value of iPhone 8/8 Plus on exchange.

Both new devices feature new glass, aluminum design

The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 and 5.5-inch iPhone 8 both feature Retina-HD display and are made of the most durable glass ever. They are powered by A11 Bionic chipset and offer 70% greater performance and a great battery life. The speakers on these phones are redesigned to be 25% louder, delivering better base. iPhone 8 houses a 1,821mAh battery while 8 Plus a 2,691mAh battery.

Cameras on the phones

The iPhone 8 continues to have a single rear camera, however, with improved optics. It has a 12MP camera with a larger and faster sensor. The iPhone 8 Plus comes with dual 12MP wide-angle and telephoto cameras on the back.
