Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's historic space radio contact
Indian astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, currently on the International Space Station for the Axiom-4 mission, will chat live with students and engineers in India using ham radio on Friday, July 4.
This special event, set up by ISRO and ARISS, gives people back home a rare chance to interact with him during his two-week mission.
What is ham radio?
Ham radio lets astronauts talk directly with students around the world—no internet needed. It's a fun way to boost interest in science and space.
During the session, Shukla will answer questions about life on the ISS and what it's like doing research in microgravity, making space feel a bit closer to home.
When and where to watch the live call
The live call happens Friday, July 4, at 3:47pm IST.
For many students across India, this is a chance to speak directly with an astronaut orbiting Earth—a pretty inspiring moment that could spark new dreams in science and tech.
