Blue Origin to send 1st wheelchair user to space

Technology

Blue Origin just announced that Michi Benthaus, an aerospace engineer with the European Space Agency, will become the first wheelchair user to travel to space on their next NS-37 mission.
She'll join five others on this historic flight, marking a big step for accessibility in space travel.

Other details

Benthaus has kept pushing boundaries since a spinal cord injury in 2018—she's already experienced weightlessness and joined analog astronaut missions.
The NS-37 crew also includes a retired investor and a former SpaceX exec.
This will be Blue Origin's seventh flight of 2025, but ticket prices for these quick trips are still under wraps.
