    What's the story

Google has extended the availability of its Gemini AI mobile application to a staggering 150 countries.

The tech giant has ingeniously incorporated the app into its Assistant feature in several regions, including India.

iPhone users can access Gemini through a dedicated tab within the Google app for iOS.

Despite this expansion, Europe and the UK remain noticeably absent from the list due to stringent data privacy laws and regulations.

    Compatibility details

Google outlines device requirements for Gemini AI app

Google plans to "gradually expand to more languages, countries, and territories that are consistent with local regulations and our AI principles."

To use the Gemini AI app on mobile devices, Google has specified certain requirements.

The app is compatible with non-folding Android phones and Samsung and Pixel foldables equipped with 4GB RAM or more, running Android 12 and up.

Phones that don't support Android 12 or newer versions won't be able to access the Gemini AI app on mobile.

    Feature update

New way to access Gemini in Chrome browser

Android users can activate Gemini in the same way they summon Google Assitant, including commands like "Hey Google."

Google has also simplified Gemini access in Chrome. Users can type '@gemini' in the address bar followed by their prompt to get Gemini's assistance.

The Extensions feature, which enables Gemini AI to access information from Google apps and services to compile its answer, is available in all languages and countries where Gemini operates.
