Google has officially launched its latest artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini 3. The tech giant is calling it its "most intelligent" and "factually accurate" AI system to date. The move comes as a major step forward for Google in the consumer-focused AI space, especially as it seeks to leap ahead of OpenAI following the launch of GPT-5.

For the first time, Google is offering everyone access to its new flagship AI model, Gemini 3 Pro, from day one. The company is also rolling out this advanced model to subscribers within Search. Tulsee Doshi, Google DeepMind's senior director and head of product, said the new model will bring them closer to making information "universally accessible and useful" as their search engine continues evolving.

Gemini 3 Pro is "natively multimodal," meaning it can process text, images, and audio all at once. This represents an advancement in handling multiple types of data simultaneously. For instance, Google says Gemini 3 Pro could translate photos of recipes into a cookbook or create interactive flashcards from a series of video lectures.

The improvements brought by Gemini 3 Pro will be seen across Google's suite of products, including the Gemini app. The new AI model will enable "generative interfaces," a tool currently being tested in Gemini Labs. This tool allows Gemini 3 Pro to create a visual, magazine-style format with pictures you can browse through or a dynamic layout with a custom user interface tailored to your prompt.

Gemini 3 Pro in AI Mode will also show visual elements like images, tables, grids, and simulations based on your query. It can do more searches using an improved version of Google's "query fan-out technique." This not only breaks down questions into bits it can search for on your behalf but is also better at understanding intent to help "find new content that it may have previously missed," according to Google.
Response improvement
Gemini 3 Pro's responses are more direct and insightful
Google has also improved Gemini 3 Pro's responses, making them "smart, concise and direct." The company says the model now offers genuine insight instead of empty flattery. It also shows "reduced sycophany," an issue OpenAI had to address with ChatGPT earlier this year. Along with these improvements, Gemini 3 Pro comes with better reasoning and agentic capabilities for complex tasks.
Feature expansion
Gemini 3 Pro powers experimental Gemini Agent feature
Gemini 3 Pro is also powering an experimental Gemini Agent feature that can perform tasks on your behalf inside the app. This includes reviewing and organizing emails or researching and booking travel. The model is now at the top of LMArena's leaderboard, a popular platform for benchmarking AI models. A Deep Think mode further enhances its reasoning capabilities but is only available to safety testers at this time.
