    Indian Mobile Congress 2018 starts from October 25 in Delhi

    India will host its second Mobile Congress event between October 25-27 in New Delhi, Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said at a curtain raiser event of Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018. The minister added that ASEAN and BIMSTEC countries have also expressed their interests and will participate in IMC 2018 - the country's biggest telecom industry event.     DoT and COAI to host the second Indian Mobile Congress

    "The India Mobile Congress 2018, hosted by the DoT and the COAI, is an excellent platform for policy makers, industry and regulators to engage in meaningful deliberations to drive the future direction of this important sector," said Sinha.

    IMC 2018 themed on 'New Digital Horizons'

    Emerging technologies such as 5G and IoT will take centre-stage. "We are at the cusp of a tectonic shift in history with the advent of futuristic technologies such as 5G and IoT," said Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary (Telecom). "India is gearing up to embrace this new digital future with our focus on 5G readiness and the facilitation of new technology adoption across sectors," she added.

    Over 200,000 professionals expected to attend the event

    According to the minister, it is expected that more than 200,000 professionals from various verticals of the telecom industry including 5G, IoT, Big Data, start-up ecosystem, AI and Smart Cities will attend India Mobile Congress 2018. Further, more than 1,300 exhibitors will participate.
