Meo is a new AI "girlfriend" from Meta Loop that lets you shape her personality—think loyalty, flirtiness, or even jealousy—using the "My Meo" chat app. You can create her backstory and tweak how she interacts with you. In a promo video, Meo says, "You're my one and only, don't even think about trying other AIs," which shows off her programmable devotion but also raises some eyebrows about healthy relationship vibes. Meta Loop's founder puts it simply: "With AI, you can control loyalty. They don't cheat... they flirt only if you want them to."
'Can AI meet emotional needs?'
Meo made her debut at London Tech Week, where she was showcased for her customizable features. Some visitors called her a "stereotypical man's fantasy," worried this tech could make real relationships feel less important. Therapist Dr. Nicole Nasr also wondered if an AI like Meo can truly meet emotional needs or if users might miss what they actually need from real connections.
