    What's the story

Expanding its portfolio of smartphones, Chinese tech giant Meizu is all set to launch the 16s Pro smartphone in its home country on August 28.

The handset will arrive as the refreshed version of the flagship Meizu 16s which was launched in April this year.

The key highlights of the handset include its AMOLED display, triple cameras, and top-of-the-line internals.

    Here's our roundup.

    Design

Meizu 16s Pro: At a glance

Up front, the Meizu 16s Pro will feature a curved edge-to-edge display with ultra-slim bezels on top and bottom. On the rear, it will house vertically stacked triple cameras and six-LED dual-tone flash.

Further, it is expected to sport a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ (1080 x 2232 pixels) resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 120Hz touch-sensing rate.

    Cameras

For the shutterbugs and selfie lovers

On the imaging front, the Meizu 16s Pro will house a triple rear camera setup comprising a 48MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 20MP telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture, and another sensor.

Up front, it will sport a 20MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.

Moreover, the main camera will support 4K video recording at 30fps, while the selfie camera will record 1080p videos at 30fps.

    Internals

    Under the hood

The device will be powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, paired with 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

Under the hood, it will run Android Pie-based Flyme 8 OS and pack a 3,600mAh battery with 24W fast-charging support.

Lastly, it is expected to pack all standard sensors and latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C port.

    Pricing

    Finally, what about pricing?

In China, the Meizu 16s starts at CNY 3,398 (approximately Rs. 35,300) for its base-end 6GB/128GB variant and goes upto CNY 4,198 (approximately Rs. 43,600) for its top-end 8GB/256GB model.

Hence, considering the upgrades, we expect the Meizu 16s Pro to be priced upwards of CNY 3,500 (approximately Rs. 35,500).
