Google loves Artificial Intelligence (AI) and uses it to power its Gmail, smart Assistant and even advertising business. But time and again, the tech giant also comes up with some interesting (at times bizarre) use cases of AI. One such bizarre experiment is Move Mirror which creates GIFs of your dance moves by matching your poses with 80,000 images in real-time. Here's more.
Here's how to create GIFs using Move Mirror
To create GIFs, you will have to move in front of the webcam and Move Mirror will match your moves with a database of 80,000 photos, in real-time. The pictures that match your moves comprise all kinds of human activity such as acting and martial arts, among others. Hence, your GIF will look like a clip of different people, performing your dance moves.
Here's how Move Mirror works
Move Mirror uses PoseNet - a machine learning-based computer vision model that "detects human figures in images and videos by identifying where key body joints are", says Google. Move Mirror is powered by Tensorflow.js library that runs machine learning models like PoseNet, locally on your device. This means all processes happen locally on your browser and nothing is stored or sent to a server.
