Nasa and Axiom Space assess Axiom-4 launch readiness
NASA and Axiom Space are double-checking everything for the upcoming Axiom-4 mission, which will send Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla to space.
The launch was supposed to happen on May 29, 2025, but now it's set for June 19 (exact time still TBD).
The date change comes after some updates at the International Space Station, especially with how parts of the station connect.
Delays after delays for Axiom-4 mission
A mix of technical hiccups and tricky weather kept pushing things back.
First, an issue with Crew Dragon's wiring delayed liftoff to June 8. Then Falcon 9 rocket checks and bad weather moved it again to June 10.
Pre-launch tests even found an oxygen leak and a problem with one of the engines, so repairs pushed things further.
On top of that, a possible leak in the ISS's Zvezda module meant NASA had to coordinate closely with Russia before giving the green light—all steps taken just to make sure everyone stays safe.
