Nokia G11 debuts with UNISOC T606 chipset and 90Hz display
HMD Global has announced its latest budget smartphone, the Nokia G11, in the global market. The handset shares some of its features and specifications with the Nokia G21. Talking about the key highlights, it gets a 90Hz display, a UNISOC T606 chip, a 5,050mAh battery, and a triple rear camera system. The handset runs on Android 11 and will receive two major upgrades.
Why does this story matter?
The Nokia G11 arrives as a successor to the G10 model that was released last year. In comparison, the new model gets a 90Hz screen refresh rate and replaces the Helio G35 chipset with the Unisoc T606 SoC, which is also available on the Nokia G21. The Nokia G11 will be pitted against affordable offerings from brands like Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo.
The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ display
The Nokia G11 flaunts a waterdrop notch design with rounded corners, a noticeable bottom bezel, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. At the back, the handset has a triple camera module. The handset bears a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. It comes in Charcoal and Ice color options.
It has a 13MP primary camera
The Nokia G11 sports a triple rear camera setup comprising a 13MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Up front, there is an 8MP snapper for selfies and video calls.
The handset draws power from a UNISOC T606 chipset
The Nokia G11 is fueled by a UNISOC T606 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 512GB via micro-SD card). Under the hood, the handset boots Android 11 and houses a 5,050mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. For connectivity, it offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, VoLTE, and a Type-C port.
Nokia G11: Pricing and availability
The Nokia G11 costs AED 499 (roughly Rs. 10,200) in the UAE and will be up for grabs there from March 23 onward. The smartphone will also be available in the UK sometime next month.
