Nokia's 5G phone to feature in James Bond teaser, movie

The next James Bond movie, No Time To Die, may have been postponed to November, but that delay isn't stopping sponsors from using the hype around the flick. Case in point: Finnish brand HMD Global, which plans to showcase Nokia's first-ever 5G phone in an upcoming teaser for the Daniel Craig starrer movie, well before its official launch. Here's all about it.
A few days ago, HMD Global's Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas shared a video teasing a collaboration between Nokia and the James Bond franchise. Now, the company sent out a press release officially confirming the partnership and noting that the company's first-ever 5G phone as well as other phones, Nokia 7.2 and 3310, will make an appearance in No Time To Die.
Along with movie appearance, HMD Global has also said that it will feature the phones in a 90-second-long James Bond commercial. The teaser, set to be released on March 8, will show Lashana Lynch's character, 00 Agent Nomi, completing a mission using the 5G phone. The device in question will officially be launched later at the company's event on March 19.
While the announcement confirms the partnership between Nokia and the James Bond franchise, there is no clarity on whether 007 himself will use a Nokia phone on his mission. Either way, given that Craig had used a Nokia 8800 on his first outing as Bond back in 2006, the inclusion of the brand for the fifth and final movie of the franchise makes sense.
As for the 5G phone in question, the device is likely to be called Nokia 8.2 5G, but there is hardly any information on its capabilities. Some 'early preview' scenes show that the phone will host a waterdrop notch as well as a circular camera bump housing four camera sensors and an LED flash. The fingerprint sensor will also be on the back.
