OPPO K3 with pop-up selfie camera, Snapdragon 710 goes official
Expanding its portfolio of mid-range devices, Chinese tech giant OPPO has launched the K3 smartphone in its home country. The handset features an all-screen design, full-HD+ AMOLED display, dual-rear cameras, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, a pop-up selfie camera, and mid-level internals including Snapdragon 710 chipset. In China, the OPPO K3 comes at a starting price of around Rs. 16,000. Here's our roundup.
OPPO K3: At a glance
The OPPO K3 features an all-screen design which has been achieved by adopting a pop-up selfie camera module. However, there is a prominent bottom bezel. On the back, the glass casing houses dual cameras. The phone offers a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) AMOLED display along with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and DC dimming feature. Notably, it also sports a sixth-generation optical in-screen fingerprint scanner.

The dual lens rear camera on the OPPO K3 comprises a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, the pop-up module houses a 16MP selfie snapper which is touted to rise up in 0.74 seconds. Further, the motorized pop-up camera is claimed to have a life of five years.
Under the hood
The OPPO K3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, paired with upto 8GB of RAM and upto 256GB of onboard storage. Under the hood, it packs a 3,765mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge technology. The phone runs Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.0 and offers GameBoost 2.0 and LinkBoost 2.0 features that are touted to improve the gaming experience.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO K3 starts at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,100) for the base-end 6GB/64GB model and goes upto CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 23,200) for the top-end 8GB/256GB variant. In China, the phone will go on sale starting from June 1. Unfortunately, there is no information available at present regarding the launch of OPPO K3 in India.
