Perplexity AI acquires Visual Electric to boost image, video generation

Perplexity AI just bought Visual Electric, the company behind AI-generated images and videos.
Announced this week by Perplexity's CEO Aravind Srinivas, the plan is to team up with Visual Electric's founders and form a new "Agent Experiences" group at Perplexity.
Visual Electric will officially wind down over the next 90 days.
