Realme 8 5G, with Dimensity 700 chipset, teased on Flipkart
Realme is likely to launch its latest 5G smartphone, the 8 5G in India on April 22, preceded by the April 21 Thailand launch. In the latest development, Flipkart has created a microsite for the handset, confirming it to be India's first phone with Dimensity 700 processor. Separately, the device has also been spotted on the Google Play Console revealing its key specifications.

The phone will flaunt a 90Hz Full-HD+ display
The images posted by Realme Thailand confirm that the Realme 8 5G will sport a punch-hole cut-out with a noticeable bottom bezel and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset will bear a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ (1080x2400 pixels) IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a 90Hz refresh rate. It will be offered in Supersonic Blue and Supersonic Black color options.
It will be equipped with a 48MP main camera
The Realme 8 5G will pack a triple rear camera module comprising a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro shooter, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, an 8MP (f/2.0) front-facing snapper is expected.
It will boot Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11
The Realme 8 5G will draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It will run on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. For connectivity, the device should offer support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, a headphone jack, and a Type-C port.
