Resideo drops Honeywell Home X8S: a smart thermostat for the connected crowd

Resideo just launched the Honeywell Home X8S thermostat for $219.99, and it's ready to play nice with Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home thanks to Matter support.
It even doubles as an intercom for Ring and First Alert doorbells.
With this move, Resideo is positioning the X8S as a strong alternative to Nest and Ecobee.

Smart energy savings and easy setup

The X8S packs dual-band Wi-Fi, customizable display themes, and a radar sensor that automatically saves energy when you're out.
It handles complex heating/cooling setups and works with T9 sensors for extra room data (just note you'll need a C-wire).
You can install it yourself from HoneywellHome.com or Amazon—or go pro with the ElitePRO S1200—plus control everything remotely through the First Alert app.
