US's AST SpaceMobile teams up with ISRO to launch BlueBird 6

AST SpaceMobile is set to launch its BlueBird 6 satellite on December 15, teaming up with ISRO for the big day.
The satellite will ride ISRO's LVM-3 rocket from Sriharikota, aiming to make it possible for regular smartphones to connect directly to satellites.

Why does BlueBird 6 matter?

BlueBird 6 is a hefty 6,500kg and features the largest commercial phased array in Low Earth Orbit—about 2,400 square feet. This means it can handle 10 times more data than earlier models.
CEO Abel Avellan calls it a major leap toward ubiquitous cellular broadband coverage, bringing stronger global connectivity one step closer for everyone.
