'Vibe coding' is making programming easier for everyone, says Sundar Pichai
Google CEO Sundar Pichai is excited about "vibe coding," a new way to code that lets people use everyday language and have AI turn it into real software.
On a recent podcast, he shared, "It's making coding so much more enjoyable. Things are getting more approachable, it's getting exciting again."
How vibe coding is changing things
At Google, even folks without a tech background can now create features or suggest changes using AI tools.
Sundar Pichai has personally experimented with tools like Cursor and Replit to build a custom webpage.
Pichai mentioned that over 25% of new code at Google comes from AI—pretty wild!
Other big names like Meta and Microsoft are also jumping on board.
A heads-up from Pichai
While vibe coding opens doors for more people to join in, Pichai cautioned it's not the best fit for huge or security-sensitive projects.
Developers say AI-generated code still needs solid human review to avoid any risky mistakes, especially in critical systems.
