Windows 11 25H2 is here: How to install it

Technology

Microsoft just dropped the Windows 11 25H2 update on September 30, 2025.
It's a quick install—just one restart—and rolls out all the latest features in one go, so you don't have to wait for staggered updates.

New features and extended support

You get Wi-Fi 7 support (hello, faster internet), Quick Machine Recovery for smoother troubleshooting, and handy upgrades to the Taskbar, File Explorer, and Task Manager.
Security gets smarter too with AI-assisted secure coding and improved vulnerability detection.
Plus, if you update now, your device stays supported until October 2027—a year longer than before.

A couple of bugs still remain

A couple of bugs are still hanging around: some DRM-protected Blu-ray/DVD/digital TV apps might not play nice yet, and there can be hiccups updating from shared folders with lots of .msu files.
You can grab the update through Windows Update or download it straight from Microsoft's site.
