Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and 12X smartphones launched globally
Xiaomi has launched its 12 series of smartphones globally. The line-up was first introduced in China last year and consists of the vanilla 12, 12X, and 12 Pro models. It starts at $649 (roughly Rs. 49,600) for the 8GB/128GB model of the 12X. As for the key highlights, the handsets feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP triple camera setup, and boot MIUI 13.
- Over two months after its debut in China, Xiaomi's flagship 12 series has arrived in international markets. The tech giant might be a tad bit late considering the increase in competition with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and OPPO Find X5 series.

The Xiaomi 12 series features a centrally-aligned punch-hole cut-out, slim bezels, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The 12X and 12 sport a 6.28-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display, while the 12 Pro bears a 6.73-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen. They offer a 120Hz refresh rate, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. They are available in Blue, Purple, and Gray color options.
Xiaomi 12 and 12X sport a 50MP primary shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 5MP telephoto lens. The 12 Pro flaunts a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. Up front, all three models have a 32MP selfie camera.
The Xiaomi 12X is powered by a Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the 12 and 12 Pro are fueled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. They run on Android 11-based MIUI 13. The 12X and 12 house a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast-charging, while the 12 Pro packs a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast-charging. The 12 and 12 Pro also support 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 12X starts at $649 (around Rs. 49,600) for the 8GB/128GB model, while the vanilla 12 begins at $749 (roughly Rs. 57,200) for the 8GB/128GB variant. The 12 Pro starts at $999 (approximately Rs. 76,300) for the 8GB/256GB model.
