Expanding its portfolio of budget-range smartphones, Xiaomi has launched the new 16GB storage variant of Redmi Go in India today. To recall, the Chinese tech-giant had recently launched Redmi Go in India with 8GB storage at a price of Rs. 4,499. Redmi Go sports prominent bezels up front while the back looks clean with a single rear camera. It offers 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 296ppi. In the camera department, the phone offers an 8MP (f/2.0) rear camera capable of recording videos at 1080p and a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie camera.

The Redmi Go is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8/16GB of internal memory which is expandable upto 128GB via micro-SD card. The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition). Notably, Android Go operating system is optimized for low-end budget phones with 1GB of RAM or less.

The smartphone comes equipped with GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS, micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Further, Redmi Go offers all standard sensors such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. However, it lacks a fingerprint scanner.
